Okay, this is an older pic that i've had floating about for a while- it was up on my Xenosatos account initially...I thought i'd bring it back because I love it so much...although it's not exactly my best by my current standards...

In any case, it's my first truly original superhero concept. I call him the Shadowwalker. As his name implies, he has the ability to walk in thin air by walking on the shadow of a building...I know it sounds weird, but think of it this way, he needs to get from one roof to another, the shadow of his hand is within grasping distance of the shadow of a rope that happens to be dangling between them- he can grab the shadow of the rope and swing by grasping the shadow. There's more to it than that, but it'd take a while to explain...lest you want to know more. Oh, he's also capable of the old sinking-into-his-shadow-and-reappearing-through-yours-trick.

The chick behind him, is the spirit of his deceased girlfriend, who upon death, wasn't able to transcend into the Beyond- and thus chose to make something of it by empowering him through his shadow...hence 'his' powers. So, in a way, you can say he's possessed.

Hope ya' like.

Addendum:
-Utensils- .5 mechanical pencil, various pigment pens, and a bottle of India Ink with a broad tip brush
-Working Time- 1 hr. penciling, 1.5 hrs. inking + cleanup and coloring. Total: 2.5 hrs.

I imagine him just falling backwards into his own shadow all dramatic like XD so cool!!

Also...him like kneeling with one arm in his shadow going "damn! whered I put that...."

I love the classic superhero concept going on- It's the mask! Superheroes lack masks nowadays, and it's sad, so I'm glad you put one on him.

The solid shadowing is perfect for the premise, and I'm not confident enough in character proportioning just yet, so I can't really critique anything there.

IF anything, I can maybe say one thing about the style- Maybe the girlfriend could have been faded out a bit, to create a more ghostly image? [It's also probably just me being nitpicky. m(_ _)m]

Otherwise~ I like it! Did you do anything else with him/her/them/etc.?

Yes! masks and capes will never die dammit! I wholeheartedly agree with you- masks are definitely lacking; it's exactly why there's one on him.

Well, when you believe you're confident enough- feel free to critique any of my stuff. Thanks for the points on the shadows...it took me a while to really gauge the lighting in order to get proper shadow placement....even then there's a number of screw-ups.

Ah, so you saw through my inability to render soft edges with ink...Really though, note taken- thanks...it actually didn't occur to me to fade the edges...I'll need to work on that.

The Shadowwalker unfortunately sat at the wayside for a bit...mostly because I couldn't figure out story execution at that exact moment. But now that I have some ideas, you'll be seeing more of him.
